Job description

About the Role:
A large cattle farm in Southern Province, Zambia is seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Supervisor to oversee day-to-day farm operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing livestock, supervising workers, and ensuring the smooth running of all cattle farm activities.

Responsibilities:

1.Supervise and coordinate daily cattle management operations, including feeding, health checks, breeding, PD’s and  pasture rotation.
2. Monitor the health and welfare of livestock, and report any issues promptly.
3.Maintain accurate records of animal health, treatments, and inventory.
4.Supervise and manage farm workers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
5.Ensure adherence to biosecurity, safety, and animal welfare standards.
6.Coordinate veterinary visits and maintain vaccination schedules.
7.Assist with the planning and implementation of farm improvement projects.

Requirements:

Proven TRACEABLE experience in cattle farming (minimum 5 years in a supervisory role ONLY APPLY).
Knowledge of animal husbandry, pasture management, and livestock health.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
Good record-keeping and basic computer skills.
Certificate or diploma in Agriculture or Animal Science is an added advantage.
Must be physically fit and willing to work in a rural/farm setting.
