Job Purpose
The Farm Manager will oversee the daily operations of the farm, including crop cultivation, livestock management, and personnel supervision, to ensure efficient and profitable agricultural production. Be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing farming activities to maximize yield and profitability. Managing resources, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate farm operations, including planting, harvesting, and livestock care.
Develop and implement farming plans, schedules, and budgets to optimize productivity and profitability.
Monitor crop yields, livestock health, and environmental conditions to identify issues and implement corrective measures.
Oversee farrow-to-finish piggery (breeding, farrowing, weaning, finishing).
Manage cow dairy herd (milking, calf rearing & heifer rearing).
Supervise forage crop production for silage and hay.
Feed management include stocks management
Coordinate feed formulation and supply for pigs and dairy.
Herd fertility & herd health management
Ensure biosecurity, milk quality, and animal welfare standards.
Monitor and control expenses to stay within budgetary limits.
Implement sustainable farming practices to conserve resources and minimize environmental impact.
Coordinate with agronomists, veterinarians, and other agricultural professionals as needed

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in General Agriculture/Animal Science
Must have a minimum of 10 years’ work experience as a Farm Manager or Supervisor
Proven Zambian Agricultural knowledge
Certificate in Artificial insemination will be a plus
Computer literacy with excellent Microsoft skills.
