Job description
Fraud and Investigations Officer
Full-time

Description
Conduct fraud investigations of suspicious phone financing activities, including analysis of IMEI records, customer behavior and device usage patterns.
Investigate internal and external fraud cases, gathering evidence, interviewing relevant parties, and preparing investigation reports.
Lead recovery operations for stolen, fraudulently obtained, or defaulted devices in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, informants, and field teams.
Liaise with police, criminal investigation departments (CID), prosecutors and other security stakeholders to support criminal investigations and prosecutions.
Conduct surveillance, intelligence gathering, and background checks relating to fraud, theft, and misconduct cases.
Identify fraud trends, emerging threats, and control weaknesses, and recommend preventive measures and policy improvements.
Perform regular audits and reviews of systems, processes, and controls to identify vulnerabilities and fraud risks.
Partner with Risk, Sales, Collections and Operations teams to develop and implement fraud prevention strategies.
Deliver fraud awareness training and education to staff, dealers, and business partners.
Promote a strong fraud prevention and compliance culture throughout the organization.
Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
Background in Criminal Investigations, Criminal Intelligence, Financial Crime Investigations, Anti-Fraud Investigations, Military Intelligence, Law Enforcement or other investigative and security functions, with proven experience in investigations, intelligence gathering, surveillance, evidence collection and asset recovery
Data-driven mindset, with the ability to use information and evidence to support investigations, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
Proven experience in evidence collection, surveillance, intelligence gathering and case management.
Strong understanding of fraud schemes, theft investigations, and recovery operations.
Experience working with telecommunications, asset financing, digital investigations, or financial services is an added advantage.
Ability to travel and conduct field investigations.
Preferred Profile
Strong background in criminal investigations, intelligence, fraud investigations or related security functions, with experience in fraud detection, asset recovery and evidence-based decision-making.
