Job description
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Export Escort Officer to accompany drivers on cross-border deliveries and ensure smooth, compliant movement of export goods. The role focuses on documentation handling, coordination at borders, and safeguarding cargo throughout transit.
Key Responsibilities
- Escort export trucks from origin to cross-border destinations
- Ensure all export and customs documentation is complete, accurate, and properly handled
- Liaise with clearing agents, border officials, and internal teams during transit
- Guide drivers on routes, border procedures, and compliance requirements
- Monitor cargo throughout the journey to ensure safety and security
- Report any delays, incidents, or discrepancies during transit
- Assist in coordinating loading/offloading where required
- Ensure adherence to company policies and regional transport regulations
- Keep records of trips, documentation, and delivery confirmations
Requirements & Qualifications
- Grade 12 Certificate (minimum)
- Diploma in Logistics, Transport, or Supply Chain (added advantage)
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in transport/logistics or cross-border operations
- Good understanding of export procedures and customs processes
- Familiarity with regional routes (e.g., Zambia–DRC, Zambia–Tanzania, Zambia–Malawi)
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Willingness to travel long distances and stay away from home
