Job Description

Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit two highly motivated and committed individuals for the positions of Environmental Interns to join the versatile Environmental team. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Environmental Officer, you will be assigned daily tasks associated to specifics outlined in the duties and ensuring there timely completion.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Participate in routine environmental sampling, monitoring, and data collection activities.
Assist in the implementation of environmental management programs and initiatives.
Perform field assessments to identify potential environmental risks and concerns.
Support the Environmental Advisor in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Participate in the development and execution of environmental training programs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to environmental policies.
Assist in the response to environmental incidents and emergencies.

 

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
Degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering or related to the field.
Basic knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Possessing a valid Zambian or SADC driver’s license.
