Job description:

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.

Analyze system logs to identify causes of failures or crashes in the fleet management system.
Liaise with IT and  vendors to resolve critical issues promptly.
Regularly check connectivity between fleet management system units and the server to ensure all trucks and shovels are reporting accurately.
Coordinate with IT to address network latency or communication issues.
Audit status logs, delay codes, and productivity data to ensure accurate reporting.
Identify and correct inconsistencies in cycle times, spotting times, or equipment status codes.
Prepare and maintain a manual dispatch backup plan in case of system outages.
Provide refresher training to operators on proper status selection, delay reporting, and troubleshooting.
Work with supervisors to address repeated user errors that impact system performance.
Create and distribute reports on system uptime, connectivity issues, and data integrity.
Perform Ad-Hoc investigations and tasks as directed by Supervisor

 

Qualifications & Exposure

Grade 12 Certificate
Degree in IT / Equivalent
Demonstrable computer skills/certificates preferable.
Exposure to open pit mine operations
