Skills to Live Zambia, an affiliate of Young Africa, is dedicated to empowering young people with practical vocational and life skills that enhance employability, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance. We are seeking a qualified and dynamic Electrical Technology Trainer with a strong focus on solar installations to join our team and deliver high-quality, market-relevant training to young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver both theoretical and practical lessons in electrical technology, emphasizing solar energy systems.
Develop, review, and implement training curricula in line with TEVETA standards.
Guide trainees in wiring, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar and general electrical systems.
Ensure adherence to safety standards and best practices during all training sessions.
Support learners in developing entrepreneurial and employability skills.
Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop facilities in good condition.
Collaborate with industry partners to promote internship, mentorship, and job placement opportunities for trainees.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Must be TEVETA-accredited as an Electrical Technology Trainer.
Minimum of a Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
Proven certification or experience in solar system installation and maintenance.
At least three (3) years of industry experience in electrical or solar-related work.
Previous teaching or vocational training experience is an added advantage.
Strong technical, practical, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and mentorship skills.
Passionate about youth skills development and sustainable energy solutions.
