Job Description
Simz Academy Ltd is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Editorial and Publishing Coordinator to oversee and manage the publication of educational materials, both fictional and non-fictional. The successful candidate will coordinate the full publication lifecycle—from conceptualisation and manuscript acquisition through editing, production, and final publication.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate the entire publication process from manuscript submission to publication.
Identify, solicit, and evaluate manuscripts and proposals for educational and creative publications.
Provide editorial oversight, including content editing, copy editing, and proofreading to ensure accuracy, clarity, and quality.
Collaborate closely with authors, illustrators, designers, and other creative professionals.
Develop and maintain publication timelines, ensuring projects meet deadlines and quality standards.
Liaise with printers, distributors, and digital platforms to ensure smooth publication and distribution processes.
Promote published works through strategic marketing, launches, and engagement initiatives.
Maintain records of publication projects and manage relationships with authors and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
At least a Bachelor’s degree in Publishing, Journalism, Communications, English, Education, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
At least two years of experience in editorial, publishing, creative writing, or a related field.
Excellent editorial skills, including content assessment, copy editing, and proofreading.
Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
Proficiency with publishing and editing software/tools.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Creativity and enthusiasm for educational publishing and literature.
