JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: DRIVER

REPORTING TO: Transport & Logistics Manager

DEPARTMENT: Transport and Logistics

JOB TYPE: Driver

LOCATION: Choppies Supermarkets Limited – Zambia

Key Responsibilities

Transporting Goods/Passengers: Safely drive clients or deliver products to designated locations, ensuring timely arrivals.
Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly check and maintain the  vehicle’s cleanliness and functionality, arranging for repairs when necessary.
Route Planning: Plan efficient routes based on traffic conditions and road regulations to optimize travel time.
Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service, assisting clients with loading /unloading and addressing any inquiries during transport.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery schedules.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Valid Driver’s License: A clean driving record with no traffic violations is essential.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading goods.
Time Management: Strong organizational skills to manage schedules and ensure timely deliveries.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clien ts and colleagues.
Knowledge of Traffic Regulations: Familiarity with local traffic laws and safe driving practices.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION: Senior Secondary School Certificate /VALID DRIVERS LICENSE (DG/G) WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Minimum 3years in the Transport and logistics Industry
