As a locally registered entity, Children International Zambia boasts of a dedicated team of over 70 staff and 200+ volunteers. The organization operates offices and programs that support more than 17,000 young people across different communities in Lusaka namely – George, Kanyama and Chibolya

Role Purpose

To provide safe, timely, and efficient transportation services that support Child Path program implementation, organizational operations, staff mobility, procurement activities, and the delivery of goods and services, while ensuring compliance with Children International policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support transportation needs for Child Path program implementation across service areas.
•      Deliver and collect program materials, procurement documents, and supplies between the Central Office, Service Area Centres, vendors, and other stakeholders.
•   Assist with logistics for meetings, training sessions, workshops, and service area events.
•   Coordinate with the Organizational Departments to ensure timely transport scheduling.
• Ensure vehicles are equipped with emergency kits and required documentation before every trip.
• Record vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance requirements using the organization’s approved systems or templates.
• Perform or coordinate periodic maintenance on all CI vehicles, such as changing batteries, changing oil, and refueling at the appropriate time.
•  Keep all records, including receipts for vehicle maintenance and fuel bills.
• Troubleshoot and report vehicle electrical and mechanical faults to the line manager.
• Ensure confidentiality of organizational information and documents in your possession

Safety and Compliance

• Immediately report safeguarding concerns observed during field travel in accordance with organizational policies. 
• Adhere to Child Safeguarding, Data Protection, Health and Safety, and Security policies during all assignments.
• Report any accidents, injuries, or vehicle damage to the supervisor

Education and Experience

• ·      Valid driver’s license.
• ·      Minimum of 5 years’ experience driving in an NGO or corporate environment.
• Defensive driving training is an added advantage.
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
• Familiarity with Lusaka and surrounding districts; ability to travel to program locations.
• ·      Understands traffic rules and ensures adherence to them.
• ·      Possess good interpersonal skills.
• ·      Patient, non-judgmental, non-argumentative, and polite with all staff members, volunteers, sponsored participants, visitors to the program, sponsors, and other stakeholders.

Digital Skills

• Ability to use smartphones and GPS navigation.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Teams, or mobile applications) are an added advantage.
