Job description
Agrosource Investment Limited is seeking a skilled and dedicated Drilling Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating portable and trailer-mounted drilling rigs for water and resource exploration projects. This role requires both technical knowledge and hands-on experience in safe, efficient drilling operations.
Key Responsibilities
– Operate portable and trailer-mounted drilling rigs for water and resource exploration.
– Conduct mud rotary and air drilling techniques.
– Carry out borehole construction, casing installation and site preparation.
– Perform site safety checks and risk assessments.
– Keep accurate drilling logs and records.
– Conduct basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
– Work collaboratively with field teams to achieve project targets.
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Educational Background
Minimum: Grade 12 Certificate (passes in Math and Science preferred).
Preferable: Technical or Vocational Training Certificate in:
– Drilling Operations
– Mechanical Engineering
– Mining or Water Resources
2. Technical Skills & Experience
– 2–3 years of hands-on experience operating portable or trailer-mounted drilling rigs.
– Strong understanding of mud rotary and air drilling techniques.
– Knowledge of borehole construction and casing installation.
– Experience in borehole siting, drilling log keeping, and basic maintenance.
3. Certifications
– Valid Drilling License/Certificate (from a national water or mining authority).
– Occupational Health & Safety certification (e.g., First Aid, Fire Safety).
– Equipment operation license (trailer-mounted drilling rigs will be an added advantage).
– Good health and physical strength to handle heavy equipment and long field hours.
– Ability to read drilling schematics and use measuring tools.
– Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
– Commitment to safety, accuracy, and efficiency in operations.
