Description:

Job Purpose
The Driver will be responsible for delivery goods/office items and transport them to their destinations. Be responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of paint and related products to customers and depots, while ensuring that company vehicles are maintained in good condition and used in line with the Company policies and standards. From time to time might also be requested to take staff to their various drop-out points. As part of the delivery team ensure that paint and related products are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct client.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate company delivery vehicles to transport paint and related products to customers, retail outlets, and depots.
Load, secure, and unload products to prevent damage or loss in transit.
Verify delivery documents and obtain necessary customer signatures upon delivery.
Conduct vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any defects or required maintenance
Picking up office purchases or other administrative needs
Utilizing navigation apps to find the most optimal route.
Interacting with clients in a professional conduct.
Planning and maintaining an organized travel schedule.
Assist clients with loading and unloading their luggage
Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road conditions
Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed
Take safety precautionary measures when on the road and report accidents, incidents, or delays immediately to the supervisor.

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

Grade Twelve Certificate
Minimum 4+ years of driving experience in a commercial or logistics environment.
Work experience as a delivery driver handling and transporting industrial goods will be an added advantage.
Proven familiarity with Copperbelt routes and surrounding areas.
Must have basic mechanical knowledge will be an advantage.
Preferably must be based in Kitwe, with frequent local and regional travel.
Must be physically fit (requires lifting, loading, and offloading paint products)
Familiarity with GPS devices will be a plus
Must be ready to occasionally work beyond normal working hours, including weekends.
Valid Class C driver’s license (PSV will be an added advantage).
