About the Critical Care Nurse Role
As a Critical Care Nurse at Friendcare Hospital Limited, you will play a vital role in supporting patients with severe and life-threatening conditions. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary medical team to monitor patient status, administer treatments, and respond promptly to emergencies within the ICU setting. This role demands strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
Key Responsibilities for Critical Care Nurse Jobs in Lusaka
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Monitor vital signs and evaluate patient progress continuously.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Operate and oversee the functioning of ICU equipment and devices.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to medical emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and reports.
- Collaborate with doctors and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Completion of Grade 12 certificate.
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid practicing license issued by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia.
- Post-basic qualification in Critical Care Nursing or ICU Nursing.
- At least two years of experience working in ICU or critical care nursing.
- Strong knowledge of emergency procedures and critical care protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Capability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments and rotating shifts.
