About the Crane Operator Role
As a Crane Operator, you will be entrusted with the safe and efficient operation of mobile cranes to support various lifting and positioning tasks. You will play a critical role in ensuring that all lifting activities comply with company procedures and statutory safety regulations, contributing to a secure and productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities for Crane Operator Jobs in Lusaka West
- Operate mobile cranes in accordance with company policies and legal requirements to guarantee safety and efficiency.
- Perform pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance checks on cranes and related lifting equipment.
- Lift, move, position, and place materials, machinery, and equipment as directed by supervisors.
- Follow approved lifting plans and adhere strictly to safety regulations during all lifting operations.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with riggers, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate lifting tasks.
- Report any equipment defects, incidents, or unsafe conditions promptly to the relevant authorities.
- Maintain accurate records of crane inspections, operational activities, and maintenance work.
- Comply with all company health, safety, and environmental policies to maintain a safe work environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Valid Crane Operator Certificate or License issued by a recognized institution.
- At least three years of demonstrated experience operating mobile cranes within mining, construction, or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of lifting procedures, load charts, and crane safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and perform effectively in demanding environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with various personnel.
- A valid driver’s license is considered an advantage.
