Job description

About E-Ride Zambia

E-Ride Zambia is pioneering electric mobility solutions across Zambia. We develop, assemble, and market solar batteries and electric motorcycles from our Lusaka hub, working closely with our research and development team in Zurich, Switzerland. As we grow our impact, we’re seeking a multifaceted Country Manager (female/male)  to lead and expand our Zambian operations.

The Role

As Country Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind our Zambian operations—combining strategic leadership, business development, and hands-on execution. This role suits a builder who thrives in startup environments and can balance big-picture vision with day-to-day operational tasks: A self-starter attitude and good self-organization skills are needed.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Compliance

Oversee regulatory compliance, including licensing, NAPSA, ZRA, and customs clearing
Manage co-working office coordination and facilities
Supervise accounting, onsite engineering tasks, and administrative functions
Lead a project rollout in the Chipata area in collaboration with an external partner.

Business Growth

Drive business development through partnership cultivation and sales initiatives
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships and service standards
Represent E-Ride in negotiations with government officials, corporate executives, and media
Regular progress reporting for internal and external purposes.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop our Zambian engineering and production teams
Coordinate task planning and resource allocation
Proactively identify and remove blockers to keep the team productive
Maintain close collaboration with our Swiss management team

What You Bring

Essential

Proven experience managing small to medium-sized teams
Demonstrated ability to execute with minimal oversight (high agency/self-starter)
Strong organizational and planning capabilities
Sales and business development experience
Solid understanding of business administration (accounting, licensing, regulatory compliance)
Excellent communication skills, including presentation delivery
Exceptional emotional intelligence and team-building abilities
Commitment to mentoring and developing junior team members

Preferred

Technical background or aptitude for learning technical concepts
Valid driver’s license
Own laptop
Passport for travel

What We Offer

Competitive compensation package (base salary + performance incentives)
Office location in Woodlands, near Lewanika Mall
Comprehensive on-the-job training in electric mobility technology
High-visibility exposure: media engagements, government relations, executive negotiations
Cutting-edge experience in a rapidly growing clean-tech industry
International, multicultural work environment
Meaningful impact: Help build a cleaner, more sustainable future for Zambia

Our Culture

We value drive, curiosity, and resourcefulness. If you’re energized by building something meaningful, thrive on problem-solving, and want to be part of Africa’s clean energy transition, we’d love to hear from you.

How to Apply

Please send a cover letter outlining why you are interested in working with us, as well as your CV, professional references, and a half-paged essay on your understanding of electric mobility in Africa to hr@eride.africa

E-Ride is an equal opportunity employer, meaning it pledges to treat all job applicants and employees fairly and without discrimination based on characteristics like race, religion, gender, age, or disability.
