We are expanding our B2B client base and are looking for a driven Relationship Manager to lead that growth.

Role Overview

This is a new business hunter role. Your job is to find, engage, and close corporate clients; then build those relationships into long-term accounts. You will represent Cosmic’s full portfolio across IT equipment, infrastructure, and Managed Services, targeting organisations that are ready to partner with a trusted technology provider.

You are not waiting for leads to come to you. You are building the pipeline yourself.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting to close — research targets, initiate contact, book meetings, present solutions, negotiate, and sign contracts
  • Build and work a structured pipeline across corporate, government, NGO, and SME sectors
  • Execute consistent outreach through cold calls, LinkedIn, referrals, networking events, and field visits
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets

Consultative Selling

  • Take time to understand each client’s business challenges before proposing solutions
  • Present Cosmic’s products and services in terms of business value productivity, cost savings, reliability, and growth
  • Hold credible conversations about IT infrastructure, device procurement, and managed services without needing to be a technician
  • Prepare compelling proposals and presentations tailored to each client

Relationship Management

  • Become a trusted advisor to your clients, not just a vendor
  • Stay close to accounts post-sale — regular check-ins, quarterly reviews, proactive recommendations
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts
  • Escalate technical or delivery issues quickly and own the resolution on behalf of the client

Sales Operations

  • Keep your CRM updated daily — pipeline, activities, notes, and forecasts
  • Collaborate with Marketing to align outreach with campaigns
  • Report weekly to leadership on pipeline health, activity, and revenue progress

The right person for this role is relentless but professional. They are comfortable hearing “no” and treat it as a starting point. They ask more questions than they make statements in a first meeting. They follow up without being told to. They take ownership of their numbers and never blame the product or the market.

Specifically, we are looking for someone who:

  • Prospects without being prompted – always building the top of the funnel
  • Listens before pitching – understands the client’s world before recommending a solution
  • Is organised and disciplined – every lead tracked, every follow-up scheduled
  • Builds genuine relationships – clients buy from them, not just from Cosmic
  • Is commercially sharp – understands margin, pricing, and what it takes to close profitably
  • Thrives under a target – motivated by commission and growth, not just a salary

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in IT, technology, or a related sector
  • Proven track record of new client acquisition and hitting sales targets – be ready to share numbers
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Existing network of corporate or business contacts in Lusaka is a strong advantage
  • Degree or diploma in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred

Required software proficiency: CRM Software, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Zoom

Advantageous: Salesforce
