About the Role: Cook Position in Solwezi

As a Cook at First Quantum Minerals, you will be responsible for managing daily kitchen operations within the Inyati Guestrooms section. Reporting directly to the Chef, you will ensure that all food preparation meets high standards of quality, hygiene, and presentation. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and a passion for delivering fresh, well-prepared meals in a safe and efficient environment.

Key Responsibilities for Cook Jobs in Solwezi

• Ensure all ingredients and final dishes are fresh and of high quality
• Follow recipes accurately, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients
• Prepare food using various cooking methods such as baking, grilling, steaming, and boiling
• Present and garnish dishes to meet established standards
• Occasionally serve food to guests
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas, utensils, and equipment
• Handle and store ingredients properly, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
• Perform opening and closing kitchen procedures efficiently
• Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment
• Monitor inventory levels and check ingredient freshness regularly
• Accommodate special dietary requests from guests
• Operate kitchen equipment including broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum education: Grade Twelve (12)
• Hospitality-related certification is an advantage
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar hospitality role
• Experience with Pilot or related POS systems is a plus
