COMPLIANCE AND MEMBERSHIP MANAGER (X1), ASSISTANT COMPLIANCE & MEMBERSHIP OFFICER (X1)

BACKGROUND

Zambia Institute of Procurement and Supply is a statutory professional regulatory body established under an Act of Parliament to regulate the practice and conduct of professionals in the procurement and supply chain management profession.

The Institute is responsible for, among other functions, regulating professional practice, registering and maintaining a register of professionals, promoting ethical and professional standards, providing continuing professional development, and protecting the interests of the profession and the public.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals with a vision to excel in the following positions:

COMPLIANCE AND MEMBERSHIP MANAGER (X1)

JOB PURPOSE

The Membership and Compliance Manager will be in charge of leading and managing overall membership recruitment, retention, licensing, compliance and enforcement functions of the Institute in accordance with the Zambia Institute of Procurement and Supply Act No. 29 of 2025, to ensure that only qualified and licensed persons practice procurement and supply in Zambia.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Working under the supervision of the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, the specific responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist shall be:

a) Developing and implementing membership growth and retention strategies.

b) Oversee the end-to-end membership application, registration, and renewal process.

c) Ensuring members comply with ZIPS’ Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.

d) Ensuring data protection and confidentiality of member information.

e) Educating members on ethical standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.

f) Develop and review membership and compliance policies.

g) Plan and conduct compliance inspections in public and private institutions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate should possess:

a) A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Business Development Studies or another relevant discipline from a recognized institution.

b) Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) credits including Mathematics and English.

c) Excellent customer and personal service skills with the use of relevant tools and technology.

d) At least 7 years’ relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years at managerial or supervisory level.

e) Must be a paid-up member of a relevant professional body.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

a) Understanding of the ZIPS Act No. 29 of 2025 is an added advantage.

b) Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or membership management systems.

c) Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

d) Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.

e) High level of integrity, honesty, and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

f) Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
