About the role:
The Civil Foreman is responsible for supervising various on-site construction activities, coordinating labour teams, and ensuring work is executed according to plans and specifications. The role requires hands-on leadership to maintain quality, efficiency, and safety while keeping construction on schedule. The Civil Foreman will lead various construction works in support of the Project Manager, and requires broad experience in residential construction.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Execution of Building Works

Ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
Assign tasks to site workers and ensure productivity.
Supervise construction crews, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
Coordinate tasks and sequencing of construction activities.

2. Team Management

Monitor attendance and performance of site personnel.
Address and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts.

3. Quality & Compliance

Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
Ensure proper use of construction materials and adherence to project standards.
Report any defects or non-conforming work and ensure corrections are made.

4. Safety & Compliance

Enforce health and safety (HSE) protocols on-site.
Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce PPE requirements.
Report and document any accidents or near misses.

5. Reporting & Communication

Maintain daily site logs and work progress reports.
Communicate site issues and material needs to the Project Manager.

Desired Skills and Experience

Education

Diploma or certification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Foreman or Site Supervisor in residential or commercial construction.
Proven ability to manage labor teams and subcontractors effectively.

Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
Knowledge of all elements of residential construction and basic civil works
Hands-on approach with problem-solving abilities.

Compensation:

Performance-Based Incentives: Completion bonuses based on quality and adherence to timelines.
Housing Allowance: Provided for the duration of the project in Kalumbila.
Transport & Site Allowances: Covered for work-related travel.
Contract Type: Fixed-term contract for the duration of the construction project (with potential for renewal based on performance and future projects).
