POSITION 1: CASHIER

JOB DESCRIPTION:
To provide efficiently, quality customer retention and service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure the drawer contains the correct amount of cash at the beginning and end of the shift after all points of sale are processed
• Scan each item a customer wishes to purchase and then determine the total for all combined merchandise plus tax and minus coupons & Scan an item’s bar code to verify the price
• The cashier then accepts cash, check or credit card from the customer and furnishes the appropriate change if applicable
• Balance cash drawers and transfer money to a safe/cash office
• To handle customer service inquiries, refer customers to management for additional handling
• Greet customers when entering or leaving establishments
• Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Food handlers’ certification & food production certification
• 1-2yrs of experience cashier
• Basic knowledge in food preparation
• Good communication and problem solving skills
• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights
• Candidate should be medically fit
• Basic computer skills –using a POS system

SKILLS, ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS:
• Basic math skills
• Customer service skills
• Honesty and trustworthiness – handling cash
• Age requirement – usually 18+ in Zambia for handling money

POSITION 2: DELI ASSISTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION:
To provide efficiently, quality customer retention and service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Cook food in various utensils or grillers
• Check food while cooking to stir or turn
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Check quality of ingredients
• Monitor stock and place orders when there is a shortage

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Food handlers’ certification & food production certification
• 1-2yrs of experience in deli
• Basic knowledge in food preparation
• Good communication and problem solving skills
• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights
• Candidate should be medically fit

• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to stay calm and focused
• Interpersonal Skills

POSITION 3: BUTCHERY ASSISTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION:
To provide efficiently, quality customer retention and service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in cutting, trimming, and packaging meat products
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
• Serving customers; weighing and packaging meat and giving advice on preparation and cooking
• Making sure work areas are kept clean at all times
• Sharpening and cleaning knives and operating cutting machinery
• Displaying produce in windows or cabinets
• Maintaining cleanliness in the work area, assisting with customer service, and ensuring proper labeling and display of meat cuts in the store

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Butchery production certification
• 1-2yrs of experience in butchery production
• Basic knowledge in butchery food preparation
• Good communication and problem solving skills
• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights
• Candidate should be medically fit

• 1-2yrs of experience in bakery/confectionery
• Basic knowledge in food preparation

• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
