Zamflourspar limited is one of the leading mining company in Zambia with its core activities in the mining and exploration of flourite minerals.

The company was incorporated on the 10th of February 2015. The company exports the valuable fluorspar mineral to China, Indonesia, and Ukraine beingsome of its major buyers.

The mineral is used in the steel, aluminum, and chemical industries, as well as in the production of solar panels and refrigeration.The mining operations are done in the southern part of the country. 

Job Title: Chinese Translator (Mining Operations)

The Company is now Recruiting for the following position Chinese Translator.

As a Chinese Translator in the mining sector, you will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication and understanding between Chinese-speaking individuals and English-speaking teams. Your work will directly impacts the success of the mining operations and training programs by ensuring accurate interpretation and translation. This position fosters team collaboration by bridging language gaps, enabling seamless communication, and supporting company goals of inclusivity. Keeping abreast of linguistic innovations, cultural nuances, and industry trends is vital for delivering high-quality translations. success in this role is measured by the accuracy of translations, meeting project deadlines. FurthermoreA Chinese Translator in a mining company will be instrumental in bridging the communication barrier between Chinese and local/English teams, translating technical documents (safety, operations, engineering), interpreting meetings/site instructions in real-time, and ensuring cultural context for accurate communication, requiring fluency in both languages, knowledge of mining terminology, and strong interpersonal skills for a multicultural environment. 

Job Summary

The Chinese Translator provides critical language support, translating technical, operational, and administrative documents and facilitating real-time communication between Chinese-speaking management/staff and English-speaking local teams on a mining site, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and cultural understanding. 

Key Responsibilities

· Translation & Interpretation: Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for meetings, site visits, and daily operations (Chinese English).

· Document Translation: Translate technical reports, safety guidelines, operational manuals, contracts, and general correspondence.

· Technical Expertise: Utilize and adapt to specific mining, geological, engineering, and chemical terminology in both languages.

· Cultural Liaison: Offer cultural insights to bridge communication gaps and foster better teamwork.

· Quality Assurance: Review and edit translated materials for accuracy, consistency, and context.

· On-Site Support: Assist with on-site communications and potentially handle administrative tasks. 

Qualifications & Skills

· Language Fluency: Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English.

· Experience: Proven experience in translation, particularly in industrial, technical, or mining environments.

· Cultural Knowledge: Understanding of Chinese business culture and practices.

· Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills; high attention to detail; professionalism.

· Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, fast-paced mining setting.

· Education: Relevant degree or certification in Chinese language, linguistics, or translation is often preferred.
