Job description
CHINESE (MANDARIN–ENGLISH) TRANSLATOR
Location: Livingstone or Kabwe, Zambia
Company: (Steel Manufacturing & Electricity Generation)
, a leading player in steel manufacturing and electricity generation, is seeking a skilled Chinese (Mandarin–English) Translator to support communication and documentation between our Zambian team and our Chinese partners. The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to either Livingstone or Kabwe.
Key Responsibilities
Translate documents, contracts, and technical materials between Mandarin and English with accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
Provide real-time interpretation during meetings, site visits, and operational discussions.
Support written and verbal communications between management, engineers, and suppliers.
Maintain accurate translation records for compliance and reporting.
Assist in coordinating with Chinese suppliers and contractors for equipment and material imports.
Provide language support during training and onboarding sessions involving Chinese personnel.
Qualifications & Experience
Proven fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) and proficiency in English.
Minimum of 1 year’ experience in a translator/interpreter role, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, or energy industries.
Strong technical vocabulary in industrial, mechanical, and power-generation contexts is an advantage.
Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to relocate to Livingstone or Kabwe.
