Job description:

Overall Job Purpose

The Chief Mining Engineer provides technical leadership and strategic direction for mine planning, engineering and production activities to ensure the safe, efficient and economically sustainable extraction of ore.

Specific Job Responsibility

• Lead and manage all engineering aspects of mining operations, including planning, design, and execution.
• Optimize mining processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness, focusing on Load & Haul strategies and overall Mining Operation Optimization.
• Oversee the selection, maintenance, and management of Drilling Equipment and other Mining Equipment Management.
•  Conduct regular Field Inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards, operational procedures, and environmental regulations.
• Develop and implement strategies for Environmental Permitting and effective Environment Management.
• Implement robust QA/QC & Analytics processes to monitor and improve operational performance.
•  Provide strong Leadership and Mentorship to engineering teams, fostering professional growth and development.
• Manage project timelines and resources effectively through strong Time Management and Administration Management.
•  Contribute to Building an inclusive environment within the mining teams.

Job Specific Competencies and Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years proven experience in a mining engineering role, preferably within a large-scale open-pit or underground operation.
•  Demonstrated expertise in Mining operations, including Load & Haul and Mining Operation Optimization.
•  In-depth knowledge of Drilling Equipments and Mining Equipment Management.
•  Strong understanding of Environmental Permitting and Environment Management principles.
• Proficiency in QA/QC & Analytics for mining applications.
• Exceptional Leadership, Mentorship, and communication skills.
•  Proven ability in Administration Management and Time Management.
• Experience conducting thorough Field Inspections.
• Demonstrated Adaptability and problem-solving abilities in a dynamic mining environment.
