About the Chemical Analyst Role

As a Chemical Analyst at CCM, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of chemical analyses that support mineral extraction and environmental safety. This position requires hands-on laboratory work, precise data interpretation, and collaboration with technical teams to optimize mining processes.

Key Responsibilities for Chemical Analyst Jobs in Chingola

• Collect and prepare ore, soil, water, and other environmental samples from various mining sites.
• Perform chemical analyses to assess mineral content, grade, and presence of contaminants.
• Operate and maintain analytical laboratory equipment, including AAS, ICP, XRF, and wet chemistry instruments.
• Conduct quality control tests to ensure the precision and consistency of results.
• Document, interpret, and report laboratory findings to metallurgists, geologists, and plant operators.
• Monitor and provide feedback on chemical processes involved in mineral extraction to enhance efficiency.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, calibration logs, and compliance documentation for audits.
• Follow strict laboratory, environmental, and safety protocols when handling chemicals and samples.
• Contribute to the development and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Support environmental monitoring initiatives through laboratory testing and analysis.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in analytical chemistry, preferably within mining or industrial laboratories.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques and operation of analytical instruments.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in data recording and reporting.
• Ability to work independently in remote or outdoor environments.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and proper chemical handling procedures.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Grade 12 School Certificate and a valid Silicosis Certificate.
