Butchery Assistant – Choppies

Job description

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, quality customer retention and service
• Assist in cutting, trimming and packaging of meat products
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
• Serve customers, weigh and package meat, and give advice on preparation and cooking
• Keep work areas clean at all times
• Sharpen and clean knives and operate cutting machinery
• Display produce in windows or cabinets and ensure proper labeling and display of meat cuts

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Butchery production certification
• 1-2 years of experience in butchery production
• Basic knowledge in butchery food preparation
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights
• Candidates should be medically fit

Skills and Other Requirements

• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to stay calm and focused
• Interpersonal skills
• Supervisory skills and ability to train employees to use time efficiently
• Physical Exam Required: Medical Report and Police Clearance
