Position Overview for Business Development Officer Jobs in Lusaka

The Business Development Officer will play a pivotal role in driving business growth by acquiring new clients, expanding market presence, developing partnerships, promoting investments, and managing strategic relationships. This position is essential to advancing the company’s business and investment goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
• Conduct comprehensive market research, industry analysis, and business intelligence gathering.
• Develop and execute business development and client acquisition strategies.
• Prepare compelling business proposals, presentations, investment briefs, and detailed reports.
• Support investment advisory and capital market activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, investors, and other stakeholders.
• Participate actively in business networking events and stakeholder engagements.
• Monitor market trends to identify emerging investment opportunities.
• Contribute to revenue growth and achievement of business targets.
• Provide regular analytical reports and strategic recommendations to management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Banking, Commerce, Investment Management, Marketing, or a related discipline.
• Mandatory Investment Advisor and Stockbrokers Course Certificate.
• At least three (3) years of relevant professional experience in business development, financial services, investment advisory, banking, stockbroking, capital markets, or related fields.

Required Skills and Competencies

• In-depth knowledge of business development, investments, and financial markets.
• Familiarity with Zambia’s capital markets and investment environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and proficient report-writing abilities.
• Capability to prepare business plans, financial models, and investment proposals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and meet agreed targets.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
