Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to be based in Kitwe. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of proven experience in the insurance industry or related industry and will be responsible for driving business growth, expanding market presence, and building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to grow the insurance portfolio on the Copperbelt.
  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to expand the company’s reach
  • Lead client acquisition efforts, including prospecting, presentations, and negotiations
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients to ensure retention and satisfaction
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design tailored insurance solutions that meet client needs
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform strategy
  • Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities and performance metrics
  • Represent the company at industry events, networking forums, and client meetings

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in insurance, Marketing, Business administration or related field
  • Professional certification in insurance (e.g., CII, ZIHRM, or equivalent) is an added advantage
  • 5+ years of experience in insurance sales, underwriting, or business development
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products, policies, and regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and achieve targets under minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools
  • Should have a valid driver’s License
