Our client requires a highly connected, results-driven Business Development Manager with deep relationships within Zambian commercial banks. The successful candidate will spearhead the identification, development, and closure of strategic partnerships with leading banks and financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities for Business Development Manager Jobs in Lusaka

  • Banking Partnership Development: Identify and secure partnerships with key commercial banks such as Zanaco, Stanbic, Absa, FNB, AB Bank, ZICB, and others.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and sustain high-level relationships with senior banking executives including Heads of Corporate Banking, Treasury, Digital Banking, and Fintech Partnerships.
  • Deal Negotiation and Closure: Lead negotiation processes and finalize partnership agreements, managing the full deal lifecycle from initial engagement to contract execution.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams and banking partners to complete due diligence and secure necessary approvals.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor developments in the banking sector, regulatory changes, and emerging partnership opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Banking, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Experience: 5 to 10 years in Zambian banking or financial services, with experience in Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, Enterprise Lending, Digital Banking, or Fintech Partnerships preferred.
  • Networks: Established connections with decision-makers at manager level and above within major Zambian banks, with proven ability to independently secure meetings with senior executives.
  • Skills: Strong business development, negotiation, and relationship management capabilities; excellent presentation and proposal preparation skills; fluency in English; self-motivated and target-driven.
  • Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Lusaka; high ethical standards and thorough knowledge of banking regulations in Zambia.
