Role Overview – Biologicals Development Lead Jobs in Lusaka

The Biologicals Development Lead will play a pivotal role within Syngenta’s AME Biologicals team in Lusaka. Reporting into the commercial business area, this full-time position operates in a hybrid work model and focuses on driving the growth and success of Syngenta’s biological portfolio. The role requires close collaboration with marketing, sales, and Crop Protection Development teams to deliver revenue and market share targets through strategic business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Co-develop and implement marketing plans and value propositions for biological products alongside the business area marketing team.
• Ensure alignment of biologicals business activities with commercial policies, health, safety, environmental standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Create strategic positioning and value propositions for the biological portfolio in partnership with marketing.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with industry bodies, regulatory authorities, and key stakeholders to inform market insights and portfolio development.
• Design and lead technical training programs to enhance biological expertise across commercial teams and channel partners.
• Oversee biological demonstration and field trial programs aligned with regional crop priorities and business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with sales, technical development, and marketing teams to build momentum for the biological portfolio in the field.
• Lead resolution of technical issues and implement preventive measures to optimize product performance.
• Support key account managers by ensuring technical support for distribution and commercial farms.
• Serve as the technical expert for assigned products, crops, or subject areas, driving standardization and process transformation.
• Ensure compliance with Syngenta’s Health, Safety & Environment policies and relevant statutory regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy, business studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in sales and marketing, preferably within the agricultural sector.
• Demonstrated experience with crop protection and biological products.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence colleagues and customers effectively.
• Proven ability to work independently with accountability and a high degree of autonomy.
• Entrepreneurial mindset complemented by excellent presentation skills.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
