KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Anantara employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
- Ensuring that all bars, banquet beverage operations and the Lobby Lounge, are smooth running, profitable operation within the framework of the Hotel.
- Maximising revenue through increased sales and efficient cost management.
- Advising on updates to the Beverage and Wine list so as to ensure an original and attractive beverage offering that meets the needs of our hotel.
- To be aware of all Anantara Guest Incentive programs and promotions to improve guest satisfaction and increase of sales revenue.
- Ensure that proper inventory, requisition, bar pars and control systems are in place to maintain security and cost control of all beverage operations areas.
- Actively participate in departmental training, and deliver training as required to meet the needs of the business. Implement a daily departmental training program
- Maintain outlet safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Enforce Anantara’s Sanitation Checklist by having all Bar service areas inspected on a monthly basis.
- Be responsible for asset management of all outlet property and facilities.
- Promote positive inter-departmental relations through candid communication and cooperation.
- To work with the Banqueting Department to support all requested functions
- Above all, to lead by example through a “hands on” approach to motivate our Associates to excel.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Bartender in a hotel, resort, bar, or restaurant.

Grade 12 School Certificate is a mandatory requirement.
- Good knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of responsible alcohol service and hygiene standards.
- Cash handling and POS system experience preferred.
- Positive attitude, professional appearance, and team-player mindset.
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Certificate or training in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, or Bartending is an added advantage.
