About the Banking Operations Graduate Trainees Program

The Graduate Trainees program is designed to develop dynamic individuals by providing comprehensive training and practical exposure to banking operations. Selected candidates will support administrative, operational, and clerical tasks across various branches, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the Bank’s policies and regulatory requirements.

This full-time role is ideal for graduates eager to build a career in banking and finance, with placements available in numerous locations including Lusaka, Ndola, Kitwe, Livingstone, and many other towns across Zambia. Candidates residing in these areas are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities for Banking Operations Graduate Trainees

• Receive training in screening loan applications within established risk criteria.
• Assist in preparing reports, monthly returns, and performance analyses on loans disbursed.
• Follow up on non-performing loans to support recovery efforts.
• Support retail and SME teams in identifying new business opportunities and promoting banking products.
• Prepare periodic reports on customer feedback, business development, and market trends.
• Achieve targets for account openings and alternative channel distribution.
• Accurately receive, process, and file documents and correspondence in a timely manner.
• Perform data entry and update records within the Bank’s systems and databases.
• Handle customer queries professionally, both internally and externally.
• Assist with daily operational activities such as photocopying and scanning documents.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of customer and Bank information.
• Participate in compliance reviews and audits as required.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by supervisors or management.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Grade 12 with a Credit or above in at least five subjects, including Mathematics and English.
• A degree in Business, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized university.
• Applicants must be between 20 and 27 years of age.
• Relevant banking qualifications and experience will be advantageous.
• Membership in a relevant professional body is considered an added advantage.
