About the Bakery Confectionary Assistant Role

As a Bakery Confectionary Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting the bakery team by preparing dough, batters, and fillings for a variety of baked products including breads, cakes, and pastries. You will maintain a clean and organized workspace while ensuring strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations. Additionally, you will assist customers by weighing, packaging, and labeling bakery items, as well as presenting products attractively in display areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare dough, batters, and fillings for breads, cakes, pastries, and other baked goods
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards consistently
• Assist customers with weighing, packaging, and labeling bakery products
• Display baked goods attractively in cabinets and on shelves
• Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently
• Uphold proper product presentation and deliver excellent customer service

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification
• Bakery Production Certificate
• 1 to 2 years of practical experience in bakery production
• Basic knowledge of bakery and confectionery food preparation techniques
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities
• Physically and medically fit to perform duties, including working at heights when necessary
