We are therefore inviting applications to fill the following vacant position

POSITION:    AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC

CONTRACT:  PERMANENT

LOCATION:   LUSAKA

Reporting to the Fleet Supervisor, the successful candidate will be accountable for the following: –

Ensure availability of serviced good, conditioned delivery vehicles (local and long distant routes).
Carry out appropriate modifications on delivery vehicles.
Continuously follow the mechanical service schedules for vehicles.
Promptly respond to breakdowns.
Carry out auto-mechanical inspection of all vehicles for condition monitoring
Compile the relevant reports on transport stocks and repairs.
Ensure all safety measures are adhered to.
Ensure that protective clothing is always worn within the plant.
Maintain the highest level of hygiene within the plant by following the daily/weekly cleaning schedule.

This job is particularly suitable for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:

Craft Certificate / Diploma in Automotive Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Repair or Equivalent
Valid Driver’s License class C
At least 3 years work experience in related field
Hardworking, reliable, and trustworthy
Ability to use a variety of hand tools.
