Zalawi Haulage Limited, a leading transport company based in Chingola, Copperbelt, Zambia, is inviting skilled and dependable professionals to apply for auto electricians jobs in Chingola. We are looking for experienced auto electricians to join our team and contribute to the safe and efficient maintenance of our fleet, which includes Scania, Mercedes, and MAN trucks.
Position Overview: Auto Electricians (5 Vacancies)
The successful candidates will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and electronic systems across the company’s vehicles. This role is critical to ensuring the roadworthiness, safety, and availability of our fleet while adhering to relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities in Auto Electricians Jobs in Chingola
- Perform electronic diagnostics on vehicles to accurately identify faults and malfunctions.
- Brand all electrical components of value, including batteries, starters, alternators, and GS units.
- Inspect and replace faulty batteries across all fleet units.
- Repair electrical and electronic faults, replacing damaged or defective parts as needed.
- Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Maintain and repair electrical equipment within the workshop, yard, and office areas when required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Full Grade 12 certificate.
- Craft certificate in Auto Electrical Engineering.
- Zambian citizenship with a valid Green National Registration Card.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a transport company environment.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities to effectively troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in vehicle maintenance.
