Job description

ROLE OVERVIEW

Role holder will be required to install and repair electrical wiring, diagnosing problems with heavy duty and light vehicle electrical systems. They will be required to repair damaged electrical parts, and maintain electrical equipment and machinery.

Role requires extensive knowledge of electrical systems with proven record of Auto Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Repair. Role requires testing equipment and the computers they use in mapping out electrical pathways and locating electronic problems or malfunctions in the system.

Should be able to disassemble, as well as correctly reassemble vehicle parts back together. Role holder Should be able to understand the equipment installed in each unit.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Installing new vehicle wiring systems
Install and repairing of all lighting issues on mobile equipment and light vehicles
Installing and troubleshooting systems.
Diagnosing electrical issues and proposing a course of action.
Carry out PMs on all Mobile equipment and light vehicles
Providing solutions with estimated time and cost for repairs.
Repairing and replacing faulty wiring and electrical parts.
Servicing of electrical automotive parts.
Servicing and repairing electrical systems on agricultural vehicles.
Maintaining a clean working environment.
Completing job reports and processing paperwork.

Preferred candidate qualifications & experience

Grade 12 certificate
Craft Certificate in Auto Electrical from recognized institution
Advanced Diploma in Heavy Equipment Repair or Auto Mechanics is an added advantage
Ability to operate electrical diagnostic equipment.
Ability to interpret auto electrical drawings
Valid Driver’s License
Valid Silicosis Certificate
