About the role   

SMLP an established law firm seeks to employ the services of junior lawyers looking to build a career in private practice, joining our litigation and conveyancing team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Managing Partner. Duties & responsibilities include:

Lead and oversee a portfolio of litigation cases, from inception to resolution, including legal research, strategy development, and courtroom representation.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing guidance, updates, and building strong relationships based on trust and expertise
Prepare legal documents, briefs and reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
Appear in court to argue cases, negotiate settlements, and represent clients in legal proceedings, demonstrating strong advocacy skills
Manage and coordinate all aspects of residential and commercial conveyancing matters.
Prepare and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
Liaise with clients, real estate agents, and other stakeholders.
Conduct due diligence and research on properties.
Ensure compliance with legal requirements and regulatory frameworks.
Provide legal advice and guidance to clients throughout the conveyancing process.

Experience and qualifications    

Capable of working semi-autonomously, under the supervision of the Partners and Senior Associates.
Proven ability to analyse complex legal issues, identify key legal principles, and apply them to specific cases or situations
Shown experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing high-quality legal advice and counsel.
Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from a reputable university.
LPQE Certificate – ZIALE
Valid Practicing Certificate for the year 2025
Minimum 1 year experience in Litigation and Conveyancing.
