Assistant Chef ( (Chinese Cuisine Experience)

GOLD VALE LOGISTICS LIMITED is looking for a Assistant Chef who is willing to assist the Head Chef in preparing a variety of dishes, with a strong focus on Chinese cuisine. The role involves assisting in daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, and applying Chinese cooking techniques while maintaining high standards of hygiene and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the preparation and cooking.
  2. Prepare ingredients (chopping vegetables, slicing meats, marinating proteins.)
  3. Apply basic Chinese cooking techniques.
  4. Support cooking when required, ensuring proper timing and heat control.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
  6. Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are followed
  7. Assist with plating and presentation of dishes.
  8. Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory and storage of ingredients.
  9. Help reduce food waste through proper handling and storage.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate or any Certificate in Hospitality.
  • Basic experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Willingness to learn and take directions from the Head Chef.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • At times He /She must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience in preparing Chinese dishes is a strong advantage.
