Western Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (WWSC) is a Commercial Water and Sanitation Utility Company engaged in the business of providing water supply and sanitation services to its customers in the Urban, Peri- Urban and Rural areas of Western Province of Zambia. In a bid to enhance service delivery and customer service management, Western Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited being an equal opportunities employer, is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Artisan Plumber, Plant Operator and Plant Attendant.

ARTISAN PLUMBERS (10)

JOB PURPOSE:

To undertake a variety of plumbing tasks in the repair, rehabilitation and installation of the water and sanitation equipment, networks and associated infrastructure.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Full Grade 12 School Certificate.

·       Crafts Certificate in plumbing and Pipe fitting or the equivalent

·       Knowledge of the local area will be an added advantage.

·       Knowledge of water supply systems and meter operations will be an added advantage. 

AGE PROFILE

Should be between 20 to 35 years.

 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure confidentiality and integrity in handling customer information.

·       Checks for leaks by physical inspection of the water and sanitation networks.

·       Prepares job cards, cost estimates and submits to supervisor for approval.

·       Locates and marks the position of pipe installations by using pipe locating instruments for repairs.

·       Installs pipe assemblies, fittings, valves and water meters using hand and power tools.

·       Undertakes repair works leak detection surveys on networks as directed to reduce Non-Revenue Water.

·       Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
