Job description
SHEP Consultants Limited is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented, and commercially driven Area Manager on behalf of one of our clients in the Oil Business sector. Reporting to Chief Operations Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing operations, driving sales growth, managing inventory and logistics, ensuring customer satisfaction, and leading operational excellence across multiple outlets.
Location: Lusaka (Headquarters)
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales and operational strategies to achieve business growth and revenue targets.
- Manage day-to-day operations across designated outlets to ensure efficiency, compliance, and service excellence.
- Monitor outlet performance and ensure timely replenishment of stock to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Coordinate deliveries, dispatches, and supplier relationships to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Conduct regular stock monitoring, stock-takes, and inventory reporting.
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
- Supervise, coach, and motivate outlet staff to achieve high performance and productivity.
- Manage customer relationships and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
- Monitor business risks and provide recommendations to management on operational improvements.
- Prepare accurate daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports to support decision-making.
- Coordinate emergency response activities and maintenance interventions when required.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, customer service excellence, and continuous improvement.
What We Are Looking For:
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related Business Discipline from a reputable institution.
- Valid Driver’s Licence.
- Membership with a relevant professional body.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in a similar management role.
- Proven experience in sales management, operations management, inventory management, and business development.
- Experience managing multiple operational locations will be an added advantage.
