The Analyst – Data & Value Chain supports data-driven decision-making across the mining value chain, from exploration and mine planning through production, logistics, and sales. The role focuses on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting operational, financial, and supply chain data to improve performance, identify value creation opportunities, and support strategic initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Insights

Collect, clean, and analyze data from mining operations, processing plants, supply chain, and commercial functions
Develop dashboards, reports, and KPIs to track operational efficiency, costs, productivity, and value realization
Identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities across the end-to-end value chain

Value Chain Optimization

Analyze mine-to-market value chains to identify bottlenecks, losses, and optimization opportunities
Support initiatives related to throughput improvement, cost reduction, asset utilization, and margin enhancement
Perform scenario analysis and value impact assessments for operational and strategic decisions

Business & Stakeholder Support

Work closely with operations, planning, supply chain, finance, and commercial teams to understand data needs
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders
Support management presentations, business cases, and continuous improvement programs

Data Management & Tools

Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across systems
Support the development and maintenance of data models and analytical tools
Leverage tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar analytics platforms

 

Job Specific Competencies:

Python programming
Power Bi especially DAX and M-Programming
SQL
Microsoft Excel especially VBA and M-Programming
Microsoft Power Apps would be an added advantage

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science or a related field
A minimum of 3 years in a data Analyst position overall.
A minimum of 2 years as a data Analyst in the mining industry.
