Job description
Air Conditioning Technician

Main Responsibilities
- Service and repair air conditioning systems (HVAC) on all Sandvik equipment on site.
- Analyze, prepare, plan and carry out small to medium sized improvements on machines and equipment (major sized improvements if necessary).
- Place orders for parts in liaison with supervisor and warehouse supervisor.
- When necessary, take lead on actions performed by contractors working on related systems.
- Conduct Preventive maintenance, perform corrective actions, supports planning and preparation, monitors outcome, documentation (outcome, root cause, time, improvements).
- Work in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Achievement of maintenance targets.
- Follow quality and cleanliness standards.
- Communication of operational status and any deviations.
- Safety and housekeeping (5S) requirements.
- Attend training and implement continuous improvements and development on a personal and operational level.
Requirements
- Craft Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or equivalent qualification, Advanced Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning will be an added advantage.
- Full Secondary/grade 12 certificate.
- Must be a member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
- At least five years’ hands-on experience working in a similar role with exposure to air conditioning systems in mobile equipment.
- Unrestricted Valid driver’s licence with at least 2 years driving experience.
