Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician

Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Key duties include diagnosing and troubleshooting faults on HVAC equipment, carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on split, cassette, floor-mounted, and centralized cooling systems, including VRF/VRV systems, and designing HVAC systems in accordance with client requirements and industry standards. The role also involves preparing service reports, maintaining accurate maintenance records, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards, and providing technical support and professional maintenance recommendations to clients.

Applicants should possess a Craft Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or an equivalent qualification, together with a minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience or an Advanced Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of split, cassette, floor-mounted, and centralized cooling systems, including VRF/VRV systems. Experience in the repair and maintenance of refrigerated trucks will be an added advantage. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to design HVAC systems, possess good computer literacy with the ability to use digital diagnostic and reporting tools, and hold a valid driver’s licence with the ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles. The ideal candidate should have strong technical, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills, be capable of working independently with minimal supervision, and consistently deliver high-quality service that meets client expectations.
