As an Accounts Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company’s financial operations. You will be responsible for processing transactions, managing payroll and statutory returns, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain precise accounting records and document all financial transactions thoroughly.
- Process invoices, payments, receipts, and perform bank reconciliations promptly and accurately.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure smooth cash flow.
- Prepare payroll and statutory returns including PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA, and SDL in compliance with regulations.
- Compile monthly financial and cash flow reports to support management decision-making.
- Manage petty cash records and monitor company expenditures vigilantly.
- Assist with internal and external audits while ensuring adherence to financial policies.
- Collaborate with banks, suppliers, and clients to resolve financial matters efficiently.
- Ensure proper filing and secure maintenance of all financial documentation.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least two years of relevant accounting experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and statutory compliance requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting software applications.
- Membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) is an advantage.
- Valid driver’s licence required.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated high level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
