Job description

Christian Women Rock has opened up two opportunities for two internships for young dynamic new graduates in CIMA/ACCA from reputable learning institutions. The interns will report to the finance manager on a daily basis at head office. CWR offers flexible working hours, good environment for career growth and self development. CWR does not discriminate based on gender, religion or race.

ROLES AND REPONSIBILITIES

Review activity budgets to ensure cost effectiveness of program implementation strategies and assure alignment with approved donor budgets.
Reviewing advance retirements for correctness and appropriateness of records, in line with the approved activity budgets.
Undertake bookkeeping tasks, including the logging of transactions, recording, and reviewing journal entries, creating invoices, and crafting spreadsheets.
Recording and filing cash transactions, undertaking of banking assignments as may be required by the organization and initiating bank reconciliations for Finance Managers’ review and ED’s approval.
Undertake day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Communicate with vendors about invoices, outstanding deliverables, and payments.
Support management with the verification of staff timesheets, calculation of annual leave and sick days, preparation of payments, and assuring compliance with statutory requirements, IPSAS and other best practices.
Support the Finance Manager with the creation and updating of financial reports.
Maintain a record of Assets (Assets’ Register) that belong to the organization.
Support the development of annual budgets, monitor budgetary performance, and provide variance analysis and recommendations.
Maintain a system of filling for accounting records and financial information for the organization.
Processing expense requests for the Finance Manager and (or) ED to approve.
Undertake clerical duties such as handle incoming mail, scanning and photocopying documents, and preparing quarterly reports.
Support the Finance Manager in attending to with year-end audits.
Other duties that may be assigned by your supervisor and (or) the ED
