As part of a dynamic team, the Accounts Assistant will play an important role in ensuring that the
department carries out its functions in a timely and professional manner. The role is based at the
company Head Office and will assist the Finance Manager and is expected to display a high level of

The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting and
finance. The candidate should also have a diploma or a bachelor’s degree in either Accounting, Finance
or Economics or CPA Section IV or ACCA equivalent.

o Entering financial transactions into the accounting system.
o Processing Branch Loan disbursements
o Processing expense requests for approval.
o Processing transactions, updating ledgers, and ensuring proper documentation.
o Provide support and guide to branch staff in their roles like posting disbursements payments, posting in the accounting system.
o Submitting payments on a timely basis after signatory approval.
o Performing daily loan disbursements and collections reconciliations.
o Following up on outstanding items or reconciliation with relevant teams
o Monitoring and ensuring that deposits are processed in the ledger
o Transferring funds to branches based on approved requisitions.
o Initiating the opening/closing of Branch Accounts on Payment Platform
o Ensuring payments amounts, and records are accurate.
o Ensuring that all payments are filed appropriately.
o Ensuring proper filing of all journals posted monthly.CV writing service

o Updating and maintaining procedural documentation.
o Assisting with audits, fact-checking, and resolving discrepancies
o Carry out month-close processes i.e. provisioning, expenses
o Any other duties assigned by the Finance Manager
o Maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
o Must be willing to travel to different branches as needed

Skills/Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in either Accounting, Finance or Economics
OR
● CPA section IV (Part 2 completed) or ACCA equivalent.
● At least 2 years of working experience in busy accounting and finance roles. Experience in
microfinance/banking/insurance/consultancy/audit sector preferred
● Demonstrate teamwork with workmates at all levels
● Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
● Open to impactful change and a creative thinker.
● Experience with different accounting software. Hands-on experience in banking systems will be
an added advantage.
