About the role:

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant with 3-5 years of experience to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting expertise, be well-versed in Zambian accounting standards, and have knowledge of cross-border financial regulations. We are looking for a creative, adaptable, and success-driven professional who can contribute to the financial growth and compliance of our organization.

 Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in compliance with Zambian regulations
Manage tax filings, VAT, PAYE, and statutory returns in accordance with ZRA requirements
Handle cross-border financial transactions and ensure compliance with international standards
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reconciliations
Assist in budgeting, cash flow management, and financial forecasting
Ensure adherence to internal controls and audit processes
Collaborate with management to optimize financial performance and cost efficiency
Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and tax laws

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Must be a registered member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) or an equivalent professional body
Additional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) will be an advantage
3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience in a corporate or auditing environment
Strong knowledge of Zambian tax laws, IFRS, and GAAP
Familiarity with cross-border transactions and international accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Pastel, SAP)
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
