Job description

About Us:
Keda Zambia Ceramics is a leading manufacturer in the ceramic industry, committed to quality, innovation, and operational excellence. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Supervisor to join our team and lead the procurement department to new heights.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of purchasing staff.
Assign daily tasks, set performance goals, and conduct performance reviews.
Provide ongoing training and support to enhance team performance.

Procurement Strategy Development:

Design and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.
Analyse market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Optimise sourcing methods to ensure efficiency and value.

Supplier Management:

Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
Assess supplier capabilities, pricing, reliability, and quality.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity and service quality.

Purchase Order Management:

Review, authorise, and manage purchase orders.
Ensure accuracy, compliance with company policies, and timely processing.

Inventory Management:

Collaborate with the inventory team to maintain optimal stock levels.
Prevent overstocking or stock-outs through effective purchasing planning.

Key Skills and Attributes:

Strong leadership and team management abilities
Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset
Solid knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes
Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office tools

Qualifications:

Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
Membership with a relevant professional body is an added advantage
