UNIT : 2 x 150 MW TPP
DEPARTMENT & FUNCTION :

Power plant operation department
Generator & Switch Gear electrical operations in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs), O&M Manuals and work instructions.
Generators, 330KV switch yard, HT/LT motors, 6.6KV & 400V Switch gear operations, 220v DC Battery Banks & chargers, UPS, DG Sets.

ROLE OF THE POSITION

(Brief statement about the purpose of the position)

Operation of Unit 1&2 Generators, 330KV switch yard, 6.6KV & 400Volts switch gear to meet the requirement for electrical system.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sending auxiliary power availability as daily basis and revising export power schedule during tripping of plant or any internal plant issues
Isolating equipment as per line clearance procedure.
Maintaining GT side and all the switchgear voltage by operating tap changer.
Assisting shift charge engineer in issuing Safety work permits.
Preparing daily export power and auxiliary power data.
Monitoring and recording all switch gear parameters.
Informing all abnormalities being faced to shift charge engineer.
Conducting Diesel generator trial run as per schedule.
Adhere to all laid down Safety, Health and Environmental standards, practices and procedures
Check Healthiness of all standby equipment and work place and ensuring complete availability of the same.
Registering defects in defects register.
Fore casting Troubles during operation and observing noise levels.

SECONDARY ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

Communication with Desk operator.
Ensuring good housekeeping in switch Gear
Working towards reduction of auxiliary consumption.
Forecast problems and taking prior remedial actions
Attend training and refresher classes

Operation of Switch Gear & Generators

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
i) Functional

Knowledge on thermal power plant Electrical system operation.
Familiarization with all the protections and interlocks.
Familiarization with all the P & I ds.
Trouble shooting ability.
Analytical skills

Regularity in duties.
Availing leaves with prior approval / intimation.
Do Not leave the work place without
permission from shift charge engineer

EXPERIENCE & INDUSTRY BACKGROUND :

5-10 years in Electrical operation of Thermal Power Plant.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION : B.E/B. tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
