JOB PURPOSE:

To provide leadership and strategic direction and to oversee the development and implementation of the University’s strategic goals in the areas of research, innovation, consultancy, grants, and partnerships.
To direct the University’s research and innovation strategy and priorities.
To manage regulatory, administrative, compliance, and research support initiatives and develop policies that guide the conduct of research.

JOB TITLE: INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) OFFICER

JOB PURPOSE:

To be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of an IT Support service to university faculties, schools, and departments in order to contribute to organisation efficiency and effectiveness.
Monitoring and reporting on service requirements and assisting in the development of the IT Support Service, whilst nurturing positive relationships with the University, lecturers, staff, and students.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Render end-user support to students and the entire university community in line with agreed service standards.
Provide inputs and support in the development of common systems and processes based on industry best practices.
Provide ongoing system maintenance to ensure non-disruption in the provision of IT Support Service, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and adaptability to changing circumstances.
Maintain a credible Student Management Records System.
Document incidents and requests to ensure speedy resolution according to agreed procedures.
Ensure that appropriate action is taken to anticipate, investigate, and resolve problems in systems and services, ensuring proper documentation within relevant systems.
