Job description
Job Overview:
We are a dynamic manufacturing and distribution company supplying products to our own outlets and major retail chains such as Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Choppies, and Cheers. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Intern to join our logistics team. This internship is ideal for individuals looking to gain practical experience in supply chain operations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Daily Invoicing: Generate and file delivery invoices in coordination with the sales and dispatch team.
Proof of Delivery (POD) Tracking: Monitor, verify, and file PODs daily to ensure timely and accurate record-keeping.
Route Planning: Assist in creating efficient delivery routes to optimize time and fuel usage.
Vehicle Maintenance Reports: Compile and update vehicle maintenance logs and service reminders.
Stock Coordination: Support warehouse staff in preparing stock for dispatch and verifying invoice documentation.
Delivery Documentation: Assist in preparing and organizing delivery notes, receipts, and trip logs.
Fuel Consumption Monitoring: Record fuel usage per trip and reconcile with trip distances.
Customer Support: Follow up with clients on deliveries and document feedback.
Data Entry & Filing: Maintain up-to-date electronic and physical filing systems for logistics operations.
Administrative Support: Assist the logistics manager with clerical tasks, reporting, and internal communication.
Qualifications:
Diploma or higher in Transport & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Strong interest in logistics and transport operations.
Good organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Basic understanding of route planning and invoice delivery documentation
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Team player with good communication skills
